Group Bookings / Multiple Seats

At ScheduleThing we cater to a wide variety of businesses and industries. In doing so we have had to make our software flexible and capable of handling a number of different booking types. One of the ways in which we maintain this flexibility is by offering group booking or multiple seats. Are you teaching a class that has room for multiple students? Or giving a tour for a group of people? With ScheduleThing’s online scheduling software you can customize the number of seats in a reservation time. 

Start by Clicking the “Reservation Types” tab

Select the Reservation Type you want to edit and scroll down to “2. Advanced Options”

At the bottom of this section you’ll see “Restrict by Seats:” This is where you can edit the amount of spots available in this reservation type. 

When customers view your booking site it will automatically display how many seats are left for each time slot. If you don’t want this information to display, click the box next to “Check to suppress number of available seats message”

Once your customer selects their reservation type and the date, the information will show as above. the seats will be automatically updated in your ScheduleThing account to ensure no over bookings. And there you have it, Group booking made easy!

New Feature: Print View

Let’s face it: we all can’t memorize our schedule everyday, and we don’t have time to keep checking the computer to remind us - especially those of us who travel during the day. We need to have our schedule on hand and on-the-go. ScheduleThing’s new print view feature comes to the rescue, giving you the ability to generate a simple and easy-to-read list of appointments that is painless to print and easy to transport. Furthermore, the list can be generated by resource, so each employee can see his or her own schedule separately, helping to prevent any confusion.

When you view your dashboard, the “Agenda” view will be the default setting. To view your schedule on the go, select “Print This Agenda” and a separate screen will pop up with a list showing your week’s appointments: the date, time, and client information. Print this list for an easy-to-read schedule when you don’t have access to a computer!

New Feature: Resource Blackouts

It’s an unfortunate situation when a customer books an appointment and shows up for it only to find the doors locked and lights shut off. You’re closed for vacation and no one informed the customer! This situation is damaging to your company’s reputation and undesirable to say the least. At ScheduleThing, we understand the importance of integrity, which is why we are building web-based schedule software that makes it easy for you to stay on top of your bookings and blackout dates.

Businesses have a number of resources, ranging from a hairstylist at a salon to a lawnmower at a landscaping company. Let’s say a resource is temporarily unavailable: the employee is on vacation, the lawnmower is in the shop, or your business is closed for a holiday. ScheduleThing’s software now includes the resource blackout feature, allowing you to blackout specific days or times when a resource will be unavailable. This prevents the customer from being able to book the resource on the unavailable date. Within the automated appointment system, simply click the “Resources” tab, and choose to either “Blackout Resource” or “Blackout Company” on the lower right side of the page. This feature prevents resources from being booked when they aren’t available, keeping your good reputation in tact and your integrity flawless.

New Feature: Lunch Breaks

Everybody needs a lunch break, whether you’re brown-bagging it or going out to eat. Having to go without a lunch break can lead to unhappy employees and potentially unsatisfied customers (running a hair salon with a sandwich in hand is hardly professional). With our salon scheduling software, you can now define a time slot for lunch breaks during the day. ScheduleThing’s web-based scheduling software will automatically prevent appointments from being booked at any point during the break.

 As you add employees under “Resources,” edit their availability and click “Add a Lunch Break” on the bottom of the page. You can customize the days and times, and break option will appear for each employee. This allows you to stagger the lunch breaks and maintain maximum efficiency by keeping your business open, even during lunch.
